Christmas crooning

About this course

Participants sing songs associated with performers including Bing Crosby, Andy Williams, Charles Aznavour, Johnny Mathis and Sammy Davis Jr, alongside a small selection of contemporary Christmas pop songs. The session examines challenging sections of the chosen repertoire and the vocal features of a classic crooner style. Teaching begins with a warm-up and continues through practical join-in activities accompanied live. Participants also have the opportunity to try elements of the crooners’ signature performance styles.

This is a mixed-ability course for learners interested in singing Christmas repertoire in a classic crooner style. Some previous knowledge of music or singing may be useful, but it is not essential. The session involves joining in with singing activities and live accompaniment.
