About this course

Participants develop core acting skills through weekly group rehearsals, gradually working towards a live production. Sessions cover physicality, character, voice and articulation, scene study, text-to-stage work, rehearsal technique and stagecraft. The director selects either a contemporary scripted play or a compilation of connected scenes, with every company member cast in a speaking role. The course culminates in a performance for an audience, which learners can invite friends and family to attend.

Is this course right for you?

Designed for adults aged 18 and over who are new to acting, have little performance experience or are returning after a long break. Participation takes place in a committed ensemble and involves attending all rehearsals before performing in the final production.

• No audition or selection process is required
• Every participant receives a speaking role
• The course is intended for a small ensemble of around 12 to 16 people

Before you go

• Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy movement.
• Bring a bottle of water.
• Scripts are provided.
• A notebook may be useful for notes and character work.
