About this course
Participants rehearse a selection of pieces in different musical styles, using discussion and exercises to examine the ensemble demands of each work. Sessions address tuning, balance, interpretation, articulation and dynamic control, with techniques adapted to the repertoire. The prepared pieces are performed at the end of term.

Is this course right for you?
The course is intended for intermediate wind players working at around Grade 3 standard, with awareness of musical notation. It involves rehearsals, discussion and ensemble playing, alongside preparation outside class.
- Learners need to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Class discussions form part of the teaching.
- Sight-reading is limited because music is supplied in advance.
Before you go
- Music is provided in advance through Google Classroom.
- Bring a pencil and eraser to class.
- Practise parts outside class and practise the instrument regularly.
