About this course
The workshop studies two or three pieces each term, examining their musical interpretation alongside the technical demands of the repertoire. Weekly scales and exercises address breathing, tone, articulation, intonation, finger dexterity, tone projection and the altissimo register. Teaching combines playing as a group with the tutor, individual work and class discussion. Studies, ensemble parts and repertoire include Classical, Romantic and modern composers, with an end-of-term performance forming part of the course.
