About this course

The course develops garment construction skills through cutting, piecing, fitting, stitching and pressing. It also covers the safe use of tools and equipment, adapting commercially bought patterns, selecting suitable fabrics and choosing garment styles. Participants sample different construction techniques while working on a garment of their choice. The course accommodates simpler projects such as dresses, tops, skirts or trousers, as well as more complex garments and alternative construction methods.
