Contemporary Collage

About this course

Participants explore collage through analogue cut-and-paste and mixed-media layering, combining found imagery, vintage ephemera, textured papers, paint and typography. Guided projects introduce composition, texture, contrast and narrative before learners develop their own series. Sessions also use creative prompts, examples from contemporary collage artists and experiments with scale, rhythm and visual tension. Possible directions include abstract, surreal and political compositions.
