About this course
Participants investigate how contemporary artists use collage and mixed media through practical exercises, supported by presentations, demonstrations, group discussion and individual tuition. The work explores form, space, scale and juxtaposition, using assemblage, collage and decollage alongside found imagery, objects and personal mark-making. Learners develop complete pieces or studies for further development, working both independently and collaboratively. Reflection on their own work and progress is included, alongside an open-ended approach to experimenting with materials and techniques.
