About this course
The class develops continuity in contemporary dance through exercises that connect movements and encourage smoother transitions. Participants work with short movement phrases that gradually become longer, practising memory, rhythm and coordination between the upper and lower body. Movement also travels through space, introducing changes of direction, timing and spatial awareness. Music is used as a basis for working through complete phrases, with attention to maintaining flow and reducing pauses.
