About this course
Learners are introduced to Canva’s interface and core design tools through tutor demonstrations, short group activities and individual design tasks. They will work with templates, images, graphics and fonts to produce promotional materials for print and digital use. The course also covers creating a brand kit with colours, fonts and logos, adapting designs for different platforms, and exporting or sharing files in suitable formats. Learners receive feedback while developing a small set of draft designs during the session.

Is this course right for you?
This beginner course is intended for learners who are new to Canva or have limited experience with it. It involves tutor-led demonstrations, short group activities and individual computer-based design tasks. Learners should be comfortable with basic digital tasks such as using email, copying and pasting, uploading and downloading files, and browsing the web.
- No prior design experience or knowledge of AI tools is required
- Some familiarity with Canva may be useful but is not stated as essential
- Learners practise during the class rather than completing work afterwards
Before you go
- PCs and the required software and tools are provided.
- Access to Canva Pro is provided during the course and for a few days afterwards.
- No work outside the class is required.
