Creative Embroidery

About this course

Learners develop hand embroidery and hand stitching skills through traditional and contemporary textile techniques. The course covers shadow work, broderie anglaise, ribbon embroidery and fabric manipulation, with opportunities to explore decorative needlework and creative textile design. Learning is applied through experimentation and concludes with a creative project using techniques developed during the course.

Before you go

• Participants should bring a general sewing kit with needles, threads and scissors, along with graph paper, dressmakers carbon paper, a ruler and fabric pen.
• Small-check gingham fabric may be useful but is not essential.
