Creative Glass – Intermediate

About this course

The course develops kiln-formed glass practice across techniques including fusing, slumping, casting, pâte de verre and finishing. Learners explore how materials, colour and texture affect a piece, and consider how to design for particular glass processes and outcomes. Each term focuses on one or two techniques, with tutor guidance and personalised feedback. Learners discuss ideas and designs with the group, then develop a self-set project during the second half of the term, working towards agreed personal targets through a Personal Learning Plan.

The course is intended for learners with some existing glass experience who want to extend their kiln-formed glass practice. Before you go

• Materials used from the college and firing are charged separately, with details provided at the first class.
• Learners may bring their own glass, clay or wax, but there is no on-site storage for personally supplied materials.
• The studio must be tidied at the end of each class.
• Food and drink are not permitted in the studio; a nearby hub is available for snacks and drinks.
