About this course

The course uses a structured workshop format to help participants develop their own kilnformed glass ideas and integrate new techniques into individual practice. Demonstrations cover casting, slumping, fusing and pâte de verre, alongside cold working methods including engraving, sandblasting, cutting, grinding and polishing, and assembly using UV bonding. Participants receive personalised feedback, create a Personal Learning Plan and present their work and research for critical discussion with tutors and peers. Research into contemporary and historical art is used to place their work within a wider context.

  • Use cold working methods such as engraving, sandblasting, cutting, grinding and polishing
