About this course
Participants learn to build and present 3D designs in SketchUp, working with layers, components and groups alongside techniques such as extruding, subtracting, scaling and symmetrical modelling. The course also covers importing CAD files, constructing walls, floors and stairs, creating and adjusting scenes, and exporting movies. Teaching combines step-by-step guidance, real-world examples, individual tasks, tutor feedback, a personal learning plan and group discussions.

The course is designed for beginners and is open to learners at all levels. No previous SketchUp knowledge is needed, although participants need a good understanding of file management and clear English comprehension at least to Level 1. Learning includes individual tasks and group discussions.

- Participants need a SketchUp Studio 2023 Student annual subscription. Enrolled learners receive a learning agreement letter to obtain a discounted student subscription, priced at approximately £58 including VAT.
- A good broadband connection is required for online learning.
- A computer meeting the stated hardware and operating-system requirements is required. Supported systems include Windows 10 or 11 and macOS 12 Monterey, 13 Ventura or 14 Sonoma. macOS 15 Sequoia is not currently supported.
- A secondary screen is advisable.
