About this course
Participants prepare cotton rag pulp and recycled paper, then use professional papermaking equipment to create embossed, laminated, decorative and textured sheets, as well as three-dimensional forms. Demonstrations and relevant examples introduce the techniques, which are developed through observed practice and feedback. The course also explores coloured pulp and customised moulds, with contemporary approaches informing individual projects. Discussion, knowledge-sharing and group critique form part of the teaching, alongside regular tutor feedback.

Before you go
- Bring an apron, J cloths or similar, one or more jam jars, newspapers, and a plastic box or strong plastic bag for damp paper sheets.
- Bags for straining pulp may be brought if available.
- Optional materials for adding to paper include thread, wool, lace, petals and leaves.
- The classroom is on the first floor and there is a lift.
