About this course
This workshop explores how poetry and short stories work, including their differences, shared features and elements of writer’s craft. Participants read extracts of poetry and prose, discuss their effectiveness, and use guided exercises to begin or develop their own poems and stories. Teaching combines reading, group discussion, writing and feedback from peers and the tutor. Course content can be adapted to the group’s needs and developing projects, with opportunities to refine work throughout.
