A tutor-led crochet course for all levels, covering stitch techniques, project planning, pattern development and guided making.
About this course
This crochet course combines tutor demonstrations with guided practice, discussion and individual project work. Learners explore yarns, patterns and stitches while developing ideas into planned and finished pieces. Techniques include working in rows, creating lace patterns, joining motifs, shaping with increases and decreases, sewing seams and applying finishing methods. The course also introduces relevant crochet terminology and provides opportunities to work on individual and group projects, with tutor feedback and guidance throughout.
What you'll learn
- Work in rows using at least two basic crochet stitches
- Create lace patterns in rows and join motifs to form larger pieces
- Apply increases and decreases to shape crochet work
- Join seams and use a range of finishing techniques
- Recognise and apply correct crochet terminology
- Design and complete a simple crochet project
Is this course right for you?
The course is open to learners at all levels, including complete beginners. Basic experience handling yarn or making simple knitting or crochet stitches may be helpful but is not essential. Learning combines individual project work with group activities, demonstrations, discussion and feedback.

- Some basic yarn-handling or simple stitch experience may be helpful, but is not required.
Before you go
- Basic materials and tools will be available.
- Learners may bring their own yarn, needles, hooks and patterns for personal projects.
- A notebook or sketchbook is requested for recording patterns, samples and design ideas.
