About this course
The course surveys Gerry and Sylvia Anderson’s television output, from early AP Films productions and Stingray to Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons. It also considers the transition to live-action series including UFO, The Protectors and Space 1999, alongside the merchandise associated with their programmes. Teaching combines tutor presentation, screened extracts, textual analysis and group discussion. These activities place Supermarionation within the wider history of British television and examine the cultural impact of the Andersons’ work.
