DaVinci Resolve: film and video editing

About this course

Learners use DaVinci Resolve to organise footage, build sequences on a timeline, add transitions, titles and simple visual effects, and adjust audio and colour. The course also covers exporting finished videos for different platforms and introduces basic post-production workflows. Teaching combines demonstrations, guided exercises and individual project work. Practical editing tasks lead to a short video project, with ongoing verbal and written feedback from the tutor and through peer review.

This course is intended for adults aged 19+ at beginner level, including people starting video editing or returning to education. Basic computer skills and confidence using digital devices are expected, but no previous video editing experience is required. Before you go

• Mac computers and DaVinci Resolve software are provided during sessions.
• No specialist equipment is required. A notebook and storage device may be useful for recording notes and saving work.
• There is no required work outside class, although learners may practise between sessions.
• Access support and assistive equipment may be available through reasonable adjustments, subject to an interview with the relevant support team.
