Digital Collage Art in Adobe Photoshop

About this course

Participants use Adobe Photoshop to build digital collages, working with techniques such as cutting, pasting, layering, adjustment and image editing. The course considers composition, colour, texture, abstraction, imagined worlds and character creation, alongside examples from other digital collage artists. Teaching combines step-by-step guidance, practical software sessions, individual tasks, discussions and presentations. Participants source images through Creative Commons, develop a digital image library and create a series of collages responding to different themes. Progress is reviewed through questions, observation, practical work and a body of coursework.

Is this course right for you?

The course is open to learners aged 19 and over and is labelled All Levels, indicating that it is intended to accommodate both beginners and participants with some prior experience. Sessions include individual practical tasks, group discussion and presentations of finished work.
