About this course
The course introduces the main controls and techniques used in digital photography, including shutter speed, aperture, ISO, focusing, lenses and composition. Learners examine how light and composition affect photographs, with reference to established photographers and key photographic ideas. Teaching combines demonstrations, active practice and practical tasks between sessions. Learners apply techniques in different situations, discuss their photographs and receive feedback from the tutor and other participants. The course covers priority modes and manual operation, including achieving accurate exposure and considered composition.
