About this course
The course develops core Excel skills through guided tasks completed individually and with other students. Participants will create and format spreadsheets, including tables, headers, footers and page layouts, then use formulae and functions such as Sum, Average, Maximum and Count for calculations. The course also covers charts and graphs, templates, spell checking, printing and organising files securely. Teaching follows a step-by-step approach, with tutor guidance and individual support as learners work through tasks. Work outside the classroom is supported through Google Classroom.

Is this course right for you?
This course is intended for post-beginner learners who already have some familiarity with Excel. The beginner-level label indicates an introductory foundation course, but complete beginners are directed towards a separate confidence-building course. Learning includes both individual tasks and activities with other students.
- Some familiarity with Excel is expected.
- Learners work both independently and with other students.
- Work outside the classroom is part of the course.
Before you go
- Bring a pen, A4 paper and a folder for keeping work.
- Handouts and a Google Classroom access code are provided.
- Google Classroom is used for communication and access to online materials and videos.
