About this course
Participants prepare dim sum and bao from scratch while learning Chinese knife techniques, including cutting, slicing and chopping with a cleaver. The class also covers several wrapping and folding methods, bamboo-basket steaming in a wok, and the use of Chinese seasonings and sauces.

Is this course right for you?
The class is designed for all experience levels, including total beginners and seasoned cooks. Participants work at individual preparation spaces, while hob cooking is carried out in pairs, making it suitable for learners who are comfortable sharing part of the cooking process.
- Suitable for complete beginners as well as more experienced cooks
- Some cooking tasks are completed in pairs at the hob
- Knife skills form part of the class
Before you go
- Each participant has an individual chopping board and preparation space.
- Hob cooking is done in pairs.
- A container such as Tupperware is recommended for taking home leftovers.
- The menu may contain nuts, shellfish, gluten and egg. Alternative recipes and ingredients can be provided if allergies are notified in advance.
- Vegetarian alternatives may be accommodated by arrangement.
