About this course
The course focuses on close observation of the head and ways of translating what is seen into a drawing. Participants work from a sitter, considering the head as a subject while experimenting with materials and approaches to depiction. It provides dedicated studio time for artists, creatives and image-makers to investigate how different media can portray the sitter.

Before you go
- Easels, drawing boards, charcoal, newsprint, masking tape, cartridge paper and watercolour paper are provided in the studio.
- Participants may bring additional materials for personal use, such as drawing pencils, Conté crayons, pastels, ink pens, coloured pencils, erasers, a pencil sharpener or a sketchbook.
- A full materials list is provided one week before the course begins.
