About this course

This course examines how myth and storytelling can inform drawing. Learners associate a model with selected words, using these verbal prompts to explore more poetic approaches to image-making.

The course is intended for artists, creatives and image-makers of all levels, including beginners. Its open-level format allows learners to explore the relationship between storytelling, language and drawing without a stated requirement for previous experience.

Before you go

  • Easels, drawing boards, charcoal, newsprint and masking tape are provided in the studio.
  • Cartridge and watercolour paper are provided.
  • Learners are encouraged to bring any additional materials they wish to use, such as pencils, Conté crayons, pastels, ink pens, coloured pencils, erasers, a sharpener or a sketchbook.
  • A full materials list is provided one week before the course begins.
