About this course
The course introduces mark making, composition, line, tone, light, space and shading. Learners explore how basic shapes can be developed into more complex drawings, with attention to proportion, perspective, and positive and negative space. They may also work on subjects of personal interest. Teaching combines visual demonstrations, verbal explanations, illustrated handouts, group discussion and one-to-one guidance. Practical work is reviewed through questions, individual feedback and a closing gallery session where learners can discuss their drawings with the tutor and group.
