About this course
The workshop explores flowers through observational drawing, focusing on shape, perspective, layers, shadows, tone and pattern. Participants dissect floral forms and study them from different angles before developing hand-drawn and painted images for textile design. Colour studies and abstract interpretations are also part of the work, using traditional media. Teaching takes place in a classroom and combines tutor guidance with individual verbal feedback, group critiques and a Personal Learning Plan. The course supports the development of a series of images rather than a single finished piece.
