About this course
The course develops drawing from direct observation and photographs, using subjects such as objects, portraits, landscapes and photographic images. Sessions address proportion, perspective, line and tone, alongside discussion of historical and contemporary examples. Most class time is spent drawing, supported by demonstrations, presentations, group discussion and individual guidance from the tutor. Learners work with a range of materials and are encouraged to develop personal responses to the subjects studied.

Is this course right for you?
The course is intended for beginners and for learners who want to refresh their drawing skills. The format combines individual drawing with tutor guidance, demonstrations and discussion in groups. Those unable to attend in person may be able to join online by prior arrangement.

- All materials are provided onsite, although learners may bring their own drawing materials.
- Old clothing or an apron is advised.
