About this course
The course explores ink and wash for location sketching, recording ideas and developing studies for more sustained work. Learners work from direct observation and may also use photographs or online images as source material. Teaching combines demonstrations, discussion, contextual images, handouts and short practical exercises. Topics include wet-into-wet application, movement in washes, mark making, paper preparation, and using pens, brushes and other drawing tools. One-to-one guidance is provided during the activities, followed by an informal review.
