Drawing into Painting – Beginners/Intermediate

About this course

Learners will develop observational drawing and painting through work based on still life, landscape and the figure or portrait, with compositions shaped by a theme. The course explores pencil, charcoal and paint alongside approaches to colour, composition and individual methods. Teaching combines demonstrations, presentations, group discussion, individual guidance and appraisals. Learners will also consider work by contemporary and historical artists, recording goals, ideas, processes and progress in a sketchbook or notebook and individual learning plan.
