Drawing into Painting – Intermediate

About this course

Learners explore observational drawing and painting through still life, landscape and figure or portrait studies, working with pencils, charcoal and paint around compositional themes. The course also considers colour, contemporary and historical artistic approaches, and ways of developing individual methods. Teaching includes demonstrations, presentations, one-to-one guidance, group discussions and appraisals. A sketchbook or notebook and individual learning plan are used to record ideas, goals, processes and progress.

Is this course right for you?

The course is open to complete beginners as well as learners with some existing experience who want to develop their drawing and painting. Participation combines individual studio work with demonstrations, one-to-one guidance, group discussion and appraisal. An ability to understand spoken English is stated as an entry requirement.
