About this course

The course uses London’s theatre history as a starting point for drawing, with attention to performance, dynamism and character. Participants develop drawings in response to the expressive qualities associated with circus, opera and ballet. It is intended for artists, creatives and image-makers at all levels, including beginners.

Before you go

• Easels, drawing boards, charcoal, newsprint and masking tape are provided in the studios.
• Cartridge and watercolour paper are provided.
• Participants may bring additional materials for personal use, such as pencils, Conté crayons, pastels, ink pens, coloured pencils, erasers, a sharpener or a sketchbook.
• A full suggested materials list is provided one week before the course begins.
