About this course
The course develops foundational drawing skills through mark-making, composition, line, tone, shading, proportion, perspective, light and positive and negative space. Learners use basic shapes to build more complex drawings and have opportunities to work from subjects that interest them. Teaching combines demonstrations, video or presentation material, illustrated handouts, practical exercises, group discussion and one-to-one guidance. Learners can share work in an end-of-course gallery for feedback from the tutor and other students. The course may also include an outing to a museum or gallery for drawing.
