Drawing on Location

Intermediate drawing course combining preparatory exercises with observational sketching in London galleries and museums.
About this course
The course uses focused observational drawing to examine paintings, sculptures and other museum objects. Participants work with a compact drawing toolkit to study essential form, line, shape, colour and changes in tonal value. Teaching also introduces the historical background, symbolism, art movements and visual dynamics of selected works. The opening session includes preparatory drawing exercises and slides before learners develop their studies in gallery and museum settings.
