About this course
The course develops four-way coordination, stick control, rudimental technique and mobility around the drum kit. Participants work on contemporary and classic grooves, including rock, funk and Latin styles, while exploring song structure, drum notation and approaches to regular practice. Teaching combines tutor demonstrations, recorded examples, learning grooves by ear and from notation, ensemble playing, solo work, and individual coaching. The group also considers the work of prominent drummers and applies stylistic ideas through playing.
