About this course
The course develops coordination and playing skills through rock, funk, Latin and other contemporary grooves, alongside classic styles. Participants explore song structure, rhythmic feel and the playing of prominent drummers, while practising counting and reading drum notation. Teaching combines tutor demonstrations, recorded examples, ensemble playing, solo work and individual coaching. Grooves are learned by ear and from notation, with correction and guidance provided during group sessions. Work outside class includes establishing and maintaining a regular practice routine.
