Edible Gardening


An all-levels classroom course covering edible crop planning, cultivation and troubleshooting, with practical work in seed sowing and propagation from cuttings.
About this course
The course introduces ways to plan growing space and choose suitable varieties for vegetables, herbs and fruit. It examines plant life cycles, crop needs and the stages from sowing to harvest, including caring for seedlings, hardening off, pricking out and potting on. Teaching combines classroom theory, advice and practical tasks. Participants sow seeds, take cuttings, explore feeding, watering and mulching, and consider sustainable responses to pests and diseases. The course also covers working with wildlife and encouraging pollinators, with classwork and activities used to check learning throughout.
