Upper-intermediate English course covering grammar, vocabulary and the four language skills through classroom, group, online and self-study activities.
About this course
The course develops English grammar and vocabulary alongside reading, writing, listening and speaking. Learners work with grammar areas including tenses, modals, conditionals and passives, and build vocabulary through topics such as work, leisure, crime and the environment. Teaching combines classroom instruction, group work, discussions, online activities and self-study. Activities include reading and listening tasks, planning different types of writing, and speaking practice using new language. The course can also support preparation for IELTS or Cambridge FCE, with additional self-study.

Is this course right for you?
The course is intended for learners who can already use English at an upper-intermediate level, including in speaking, listening, reading and writing, although some grammatical inaccuracies may remain. It suits learners able to understand relatively complex language in familiar situations.

- The source gives ESOL Level 1/2 and IELTS band 5–6, or equivalent, as reference points.
- Learners' work is reviewed through a folder of work and an Individual Learning Plan.
