About this course
The course combines talks, listening assignments, demonstrations, note-taking and practical workshops. Participants work on songs, riffs, open, barre and power chords, alongside scales, lead guitar techniques and fretboard knowledge. Activities include group work and performances in class. Teaching also covers how notes and chords relate within a key, selecting scales for improvisation over chord progressions, and playing in different genres.

Is this course right for you?
The course is intended for learners who already have some electric guitar playing experience, including familiarity with songs, chords and scales. It has a group-learning format with in-class performances, and participants should be prepared to complete weekly homework and prepare tunes for performance.
