About this course
The course examines type as a visual and narrative element, using paper stencils for screen printing and wooden type for relief printing and embossing. Participants will experiment with surface, shape, colour and composition, and use simple typography to develop design ideas. Teaching combines demonstrations for the group and individuals with discussion and feedback. The wooden type is prepared and laser-cut in advance; file preparation can be discussed, but is not facilitated as part of this introductory course.
