Embroidered art brooches

About this course

Learners examine textile collage and embroidered examples before working through demonstrations and practical exercises. They develop small fabric collages, freestyle embroidery patterns and textured surfaces, then use hand-sewing and simple embroidery stitches to turn textile fragments into brooches. Teaching includes demonstrations, group recaps and individual guidance throughout the workshop, with participants creating at least one finished piece of embroidered textile jewellery.

• All essential materials and sewing tools are provided.
• Participants may bring a personal sewing kit, cords, threads, knitting yarns or fabric remnants if they wish.
• Learners who need them should bring reading glasses for viewing close details.
• An illustrated handout and materials list are provided for continuing practice after the workshop.
