About this course
Participants develop a cohesive capsule collection, using fashion trends as research prompts before planning and testing their own designs. The course covers pattern development on the stand and through flat pattern cutting, alongside garment construction using more complex fabrics. Teaching also introduces basic tailoring, padding, hand sewing, professional finishing and quality control. Alongside making, participants consider costing, presentation and promotion, selecting construction methods that suit their designs. Work develops towards an end-of-course display.
