English grammar skills: using tenses and sentence structures confidently (level 1)

About this course

The course develops understanding of present, past and future tenses and how to use them in everyday communication. Participants practise describing routines and events, writing simple messages, and constructing sentences with accurate word order, verbs, articles and connectors such as “and”, “but” and “because”. Sessions include guided grammar practice and editing activities, with learners checking and improving their own sentences to make them clearer and more accurate. The course is intended to help ESOL learners prepare for a Getting Ready or Functional Skills English course.
