Entry Level – Digital Skills

About this course

The course develops practical digital skills across online safety, device settings, online services, secure shopping, information management and document creation. It also covers digital communication and media, evaluating online information, recognising digital risks, addressing technical problems and considering digital wellbeing. Teaching combines work-related classroom material with group and paired activities, individual support, projects and class assignments. The course can also help learners prepare for progression to a Level 1 digital skills course.

• Manage, store and evaluate digital information

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for beginner-level learners who are developing essential digital skills for everyday life and work. Learners are expected to participate in classroom discussions, group and paired activities, projects and assignments, with enough English to understand some technical vocabulary and communicate with the tutor.

• Learners should already be able to turn on a device and use a mouse, keyboard or touchscreen.
• Basic ability to connect to the internet, open a browser and access an application is expected.
• The course may support progression towards a Level 1 digital skills course.
