ESOL Advanced level conversation

About this course

The course develops spoken English through conversations on subjects including health, languages, culture, travel and everyday practical matters. Participants also consider grammar connected with these topics, although grammar, reading and writing receive less emphasis than speaking. Teaching is face to face, with whole-class conversation work and presentations in smaller groups. Progress is reviewed through classroom conversations, observation, feedback and an informal presentation. Occasional short homework tasks reinforce work covered in class.
