About this course

The course develops practical maths skills through familiar situations including shopping, cooking, budgeting and telling the time. Participants practise addition, subtraction, money calculations, measurement, shapes, charts and tables, while learning the English terms used in these activities. The teaching relates maths to home and family life, including ways to understand school maths and support a child’s learning. Learners work at their own pace with tutor support.
