ESOL: communication for work and everyday situations (level 1 Ascentis Skills for Employment)

About this course

Learners research job opportunities and prepare a full application, including practising interview skills and using feedback to refine their performance. The course also develops communication for different workplace purposes and audiences, alongside collaboration towards shared goals and responsibility for individual tasks. Employment rights and responsibilities are examined through topics such as grievance and disciplinary procedures, with learners relating these to a particular job or sector. Work is collected in a portfolio assessed against the Ascentis Skills for Employment Level 1 award criteria.
