ESOL everyday English: using English for life, work and the community (level 1)

About this course

The course develops English for practical situations in workplaces, public services and community life. Learners practise asking for and giving information, understanding service details and responding to information about events and local provision. Activities cover reading real-life texts, writing messages, emails and short process texts, and discussing topics such as health, recycling, the environment and cultural events. Language work includes question forms, modal verbs, sequencing language, passive voice, past simple and present perfect.
