ESOL everyday English: using English for life, work and the community (level 1)

About this course

The course develops practical English through situations involving local services, workplaces and community life. Learners work with service information, websites, notices and event details, then practise asking for information, responding to messages and writing emails or short texts. Speaking and listening activities include describing experiences, giving advice and discussing environmental or community issues. Language work covers question forms, past simple, present perfect, modal verbs, sequencing language and passive voice. Tasks are based on real-life purposes, including accessing services, understanding information and explaining processes.
