ESOL first steps: reading, writing and communication (pre-entry)

About this course

Participants practise using English in everyday situations through simple speaking and listening activities, including asking and answering basic questions. Reading work covers words, signs and short sentences, while writing tasks include personal information, simple sentences, forms and short messages. The course combines communication practice with foundational literacy activities, using examples such as introducing yourself, giving an address and understanding written information.
