About this course

The course develops strategies for understanding written English in everyday situations. Learners work with texts including letters, appointment notices, timetables, signs, menus, labels, leaflets, websites and local-service information. Activities focus on locating key details, recognising a text’s purpose through headings, keywords and layout, following written instructions, and using lists, directories and alphabetical order to find information.
