About this course

The course develops spoken English for routine situations involving shops, appointments, public transport, school and conversations with people such as neighbours or health staff. Learners practise understanding short messages, instructions and questions, identifying key details, and responding with clear, simple sentences. Teaching includes short conversations with other learners and activities based on asking for information, giving personal details, expressing simple opinions and exchanging information about familiar topics. The course also prepares learners for the Ascentis Entry 1 Speaking and Listening qualification.
