About this course
The course develops spoken English for familiar situations, including conversations with teachers, neighbours, shop assistants and health staff. Learners practise understanding short messages, instructions and questions, then use simple spoken sentences to ask for information, respond, give personal details and express basic opinions. Teaching includes short conversations with other learners and speaking tasks based on real-life contexts such as shops, appointments, school and public transport. The course also prepares learners for the Ascentis Entry 1 Speaking and Listening qualification.
